The competition will challenge you to apply your critical thinking skills and creativity to a healthcare business problem, which is typically not available to you in the classroom or laboratory setting. You will get an unparalleled opportunity to collaborate with motivated & like-minded people and offer innovative ideas & solutions in front of judges, who are senior personnel at consulting firms. Winning MHCC teams will secure a total of $7,000 in prize money and more!

Application Instructions:


Team eligibility

  • Teams must have 3-5 members

  • Graduate-level trainees from institutions across the country and world are eligible to participate. PhD, MD, JD, and master’s students (both MBA and non-MBA master’s), as well as postdocs

  • Only one MBA student is allowed per team.

  • Must be enrolled in an academic institution at the time of this application

  • Any student currently employed in a paid professional consulting role, whether at a consulting firm, within another organization, or as an independent consultant, is NOT eligible to participate in MHCC.

    • Student consulting clubs, volunteer or pro bono projects, coursework, and other educational consulting experiences are permitted.

  • Participating teams may have their resumes and cover letters reviewed by external bodies such as (Career centers, resume coaches, etc) before application submission

  • Participating teams may NOT interact, engage, or receive feedback from professionals or external bodies after their application has been submitted.

  • Participating teams that advance to the quarter finals and receive the case prompt may NOT interact, engage, or receive feedback from any professionals or external bodies once the case is released.

  • It is to our fullest expectations that teams creative solutions are independently crafted by the team members working together to collectively craft a solution for our healthcare business case.
